Anne Frank's diary is apart from a personal account of her life is also a social document which gives us with a brilliant narrative on the socio-political conditions. When she talks about the horrors of war and the persecution of the Jews, we see the emerging image of a sensitive, perceptive and intelligent young girl. She brings hope for readers that they can display a remarkably astute way of looking at life. Anne is horrified as the war brings and deplores the negative mentality of people. Anne believed that a person should not be defined by their ethnic or religious identities because she always sees a person is much more than that. Jews identity, human and national was snatched away from them, prominent families, they were hastened to their deaths in the concentration camps. War brought its own fair share of miseries and scarcities when Anne was growing up. In all the accounts that Anne provides of the conflicts, military as well as ethnic, Anne's clarity of vision comes through regarding the banalities of such wars. She has a humanitarian vision which incorporates the human nature's proclivity towards errors and flaws but believes that goodness and solidarity prevail over everything else.
