  • Apical meristem is a type of meristematic tissue.

  • Apial meristems are situated at the growing tips of stems and roots.

  • Apical meristems are also found at the apices of the leaves.

Q2:- Epidermis:-

  • It is the outermost layer of the plant body.

  • It is important because of the following functions:-

  1. It shows the presence of stomata (minute pore-like structure) on leaves.
  2. The epidermis is protected by cuticle at some parts of the tree and it helps to stop water loss by evaporation.
  3. It covers the body from outside and protects from pathogen attack and atmosphere changes.
