Biology is in itself a complete word. Bios in Greek Means Life & Logy is the ‘Study of’, therefore it actually means the study of life. Bi also means two (2), which essentially represents the two kingdoms of the living things, i.e. Animals & Plants. The Study of Animal’s Life is called Zoology & that of Plants is called Botany. A combination of both is Biology. Then there are various sub-branches under zoology and botany.
