Change in non-reproductive tissues(somatic cells) cannot be passed on the DNA of germ cells. Traits are transmitted to the progeny through DNA of gametes produced from germ cells. Somatic cells do not produce gametes. Thus, the acquires traits will die with the death of individual. It is non- heritable and cannot be passed on to its progeny.
