Jerome Klapka Jerome was an English writer and humorist, best known for the comic travelogue Three Men in a Boat. Other works include the essay collections Idle Thoughts of an Idle Fellow and Second Thoughts of an Idle Fellow; Three Men on the Bummel, a sequel to Three Men in a Boat, and several other novels.

Jerome Klapka Jerome was born on 2 may ,1859 in England was an actor and teacher before becoming a novelist. He was best known for the comic travelogue Three Men in a boat. Jerome left school at the age of 14 working first as a railway clerk then as a school teacher. On 21 June 1888 he married Georgina Elizabeth Henrietta Stanley Marris. He died on 14 June 1927 at the age of 68
