Maria Yuryevna Shrapova, also known as Maria Sharapova is a Russian  professional tennis player of Belarusian descent. She was born in Russia on 19th April, 1987. She was nine years old when she was introduced to Tennis for the first time in Florida, USA. Her father was her first coach who accompanied her to Florida where she began her tennis training. She lived all alone in the unknown country for the sake of her passion and love for the sport. She many times was bullied by other trainees but never gave it a chance to deviate from her way to success.
Maria practised meticulously with full conviction to achieve her dreams. In 2004 she became Wimbledon champion. She is the only Russian to win Grand Slam title to date. She was just 18 years old when she was ranked the world's number one in tennis.   
From all her accomplishments, it proves that she has a fantastic sportsmanship spirit. She has been receiving countless accolades from all over the world because of her sincerity, integrity, and humbleness.

Maria Sharapova is quite a strong, courageous, and resilient woman. She had to pay a great price to clinch success. She had to develop many qualities in order to secure success. She had unshakable determination and mental toughness; though there were so many obstacles, yet she never thought of quitting.  

She had to make many sacrifices to achieve success in tennis. Maria paid the price in the form of loss of her mother’s love at the tender age of 10. Her father, Yuri took her to America for tennis training; unfortunately, her mother, Yelena had to stay back in Siberia because she was not issued visa. Even in America, she had to face lots of challenges. Her father could also not see her quite often as he had to work to provide for her tennis training.
