From above equation it is clear that h =100 m,
therefore,
v^2 - u^2 = 2 gs we get, v =0 (Final Velocity).
u = (2 gh) ^1/2, u = ( 2 g 100)^1/2 = (200 g)^1/2.
Finally we get,
0 - 200g = 2×a×2
-200 g = 4a
a = - 50 g
a = -50 × 10 ms^-2
a = -500ms^-2
Therefore retardation is -500 ms^-2.
( Here ^ indicates uppercase).
