Blood is considered to be connective tissue for the following reasons: The embryological constituency of blood has the same origin as that of any other connective tissue types. Blood has three components of the connective tissue – fibres, matrix and cell.

Blood is called a connective tissue because it carries with it many digestive substances, oxygen from lungs, foods from small intestines and provide it to other tissues and organs of the body.
