Answer:

9.6 litres

The paints are mixed in the ratio 2:1:3.

So 3 parts of the 6 parts of the paint mixture are of white paint, that is the ratio of white paint:paint mixture is 1:2.

The volume of the white paint is 4.8 litres, so the volume of the paint mixture is 4.8 × 2 = 9.6 litres.

Answer:

Total volume of the paint obtained 9.6 liters

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data

Blue, Red and White paints are mixed in ratio 2 : 1 : 3  by volume

the volume of white paint used = 4.8 liters

⇒ the volume of the paints are 2 : 1 : 3 ratio

⇒ let the volume of the paint  blue, red and white are 2x, 1x and 3x respectively

⇒ Given that volume of white paint 3x = 4.8 liters

                                                             x = 4.8/ 3 = 1.6 liters

⇒ volume of Blue paint = 2x = 2(1.6) = 3.2 liters

⇒ volume of Red paint = x = 1.6 liters

total volume of the paint obtained = 4.8 + 3.2 + 1.6 = 9.6 liters
