see figure, from R to S and back to R is one complete oscillation.

here given, time taken to one extreme position to another extreme position is 1.25 s

for better understanding, we can say time is given to move from R to S is 1.25s

so, time period = 2 × time taken to move from R to S = 2 × 1.25 s

= 2.5 sec

hence, time period of pendulum is 2.5 sec
