Bobby is 11, exactly one third as old as his mother. In how many years will he be half as old as she is?

Let Bobby's mother's age be x.
so ,
1/3 of x = 11
x = 11*3
= 33
Let after y years ,
Mom's age = 33+y
Bobby's age = 11+y
According to the question :-
11+y = 1/2( 33 + y )
2( 11+y) = (33+y)
22 + 2y = 33 +y
2y - y = 33- 22
y = 10 years

Hence
Answer = 10 years
