the object having little mass will have more velocity to gain as much momentum as that of the heavier one.
this is so because
let object with mass m1 be 1
and object with mass m2 be 2
Now,
 p _{1} = p_{2} \\ = > m _{1}v _{1}= m_{2}v _{2} \: \: .........(1) \\ now \\ m _{1} >m _{2} \\ = > \frac{m _{1}}{m _{2}} > 1 \\ or \\ \frac{v _{2}}{v _{1}} > 1 \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: from \: (1) \\ or \\ v _{2} > v _{1}
