and their velocities be v1 and v2 respectively...

thus,

thus,their momenta would be m1v1 and m2v2 respectively.

now it's given that,

m1v1=m2v2

or, m1/m2=v2/v1

now as m1>m2 so,by the properties of ratio

now as m1>m2 so,by the properties of ratio v2 must be greater than v1.

[for example: 3/2=6/4 here as 3>2 so 6>4]
