Body Layers of Tapeworm :-

The adult tapeworm has a Scolex, or head, a short neck, and a Strobila, or segmented body formed of Proglottids.

Tapeworms anchor themselves to the inside of the intestine of their host using their scolex, which typically has hooks, or both.

Characteristics of a Tapeworm :-

  • The Skin tough outer covering that. protects against host's digestive juices.
  • Heterotrophic. live on other living things in which they depend on for food.
  • Sessile cannot move on their own.
  • Body Segments Scolex (head) has several parts.
