Fluorine's electronic configuration=1S^2 , 2S^2 ,2Px^2 , 2Py^2 , 2Pz^1
Therefore the bond formed will be in between Pz-Pz . And if a bond is formed between Pz-Pz orbitals then that bind is said to be "SIGMA BOND".Also because axial overlapping would take place.
