Wings of Fire-Book review

Wings of Fire is one of the most inspiring and captivating autobiographies of the present century.

Written by the legendary Missile Man of India Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam, along with Arun Tiwari, the book takes us on a whirlwind journey of the genius’ life.

It is a treasure trove of inspiration.

The book is divided into basically four sections.

The first section is named Orientation.

It spans thirty two years of Kalam’s early life tracing the evolution of a child Kalam, an innocent Muslim student of Ramashweram to the budding scientist.

The section deals with the most crucial aspects of his life and how his varied experiences help to make an idealistic  human being of him.

The next section is named ‘Creation’ .

It describes the next seventeen years of his life. His metamorphosis into the Missile Man.

The following section traces the next ten years of his life focusing on his outstanding accomplishments at DRDL. It is the most motivating section that inspires us to be optimists against all odds.

The last section is entitled ‘Contemplation’.

It highlights the philosophy of his life.

It is full of anecdotes and inspires the future generations to work hard and devotedly at their work.
