The Antidote by R K Narayan is a book that is for the pure entertainment purpose.

It is a story of Gopal who pretended to die when the doctor insisted.

Also, the script cannot be changed but later in the story when Gopal reaches his 49 birthday when it comes out to be as a fateful occasion and was warned by the astrologers to stay away from any sort of ill omen.

He requires an antidote which is the main concept of the story.
