Thanks for your question...

Your required answer :

Given :

  • Radius = 7 m
  • CSA = 88

To find :

  • Height

Solution :

We know that C S A of cylinder is 2πrh .

  • 2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times 7 \times h = 88 \\ \\ 44 \times h = 88 \\ \\ h = \frac{88}{44} \\ \\ h = 2 \: m

Therefore height of cylinder is 2 m

Concept :-

To solve this question, we will take the help of mensuration, or area and volume of 3 D shapes, more especially, we will take the help of formula for area of cylinder. In that also, the formula for curved surface area of a cylinder.

 \large \bull \: \pink{ \underline{   \boxed{ \sf CSA_{Cylinder}  = 2 \pi rh}}}

Here, we have been provided with the value of radius and CSA of the cylinder. We have to find out the value of "h" or the height of the cylinder. So we will put the values and solve it.

Given Information :-

A cylinder, in which :-

  • CSA = 88 m²
  • Radius = 7 m

To Calculate :-

  • The height of the cylinder

Solution :-

  \\ \sf \dashrightarrow \: 88 \: {m}^{2} = 2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times 7 \times h \\ \\

 \\ \sf \dashrightarrow \: 88 \: = 2 \times \frac{22}{ \cancel7} \times \cancel7 \times h \\ \\

 \\ \sf \dashrightarrow88 = 44h \\ \\

 \\ \sf \dashrightarrow \:h = \cancel\frac{88}{44} \\ \\

 \\ \qquad \star \: \green{ \underline{ { \boxed {{ \mathfrak{ \: h = 2}}}}}} \: \star \\ \\

Therefore, the correct option is (b) 2 m.
