Both Belgium and Sri Lanka are democracies, but they follow different systems : This is true because of the following reasons.

  • When the clashes between French and Dutch arises in the country of Belgium, the government made certain laws to resolve these conflicts.

  • The laws included the introduction of community government and other such laws which resolved the conflicts.

  • On the other hand, in Sri Lanka, after independence, the government made laws for the benefit of Buddhists and Sinhalas.

  • These made the Tamilians angry and resulted in riots and clashes.

  • Hence, both the country had democracies but different systems of Power sharing resulting in betterment in one country and clashes in the other.

Power sharing is the process of sharing power among different groups and tiers of the government so that the governance can be done in a better way.
