IN BELGIUM POWER WAS SHARED AMONG THE TWO MAJOR COMMUNITIES , THAT IS GERMAN AND FRENCH. WHEREAS IN SRI LANKA , POWER WAS NOT SHARED. SRI LANKA ADOPTED THE MAJORITARIAN RULE , AS A RESULT THE SINHALA COMMUNITY SUPPRESSED THE TAMILS.THE RELATIONS BETWEEN THE TAMILS AND SINHALA COMMUNITY STRAINED AND THIS LED TO THE CIVIL WAR.
