an increase in co2 cause more heat to be retained by the atmosphere and lead to global warming. ozone layer was getting depleted. various man-made compound like CFCs causing these type of problems. they are present in refrigerator. they will react with ozone molecules. this cause reduction of ozone layer. recently they have discovered a hole in the ozone layer above the Antartica. warming of earth will cause huge disasters. eg: tsunami, flood, cyclone etc.

the green house effect:

some gases prevent the escape of heat from the earth. an increase in the % of such gases in the atmosphere would cause the average temperatures to increase world-wide and this is called the green house effect. green house gases are: co2,methane,CFCs,nitrous oxide etc.
