Difference between breathing and respiration are as follows :-
Breathing
________
I) it is a mechanical action involving the act of inhaling and exhaling. It involves taking in oxygen from the environment and removal of carbon dioxide from the body.
ii) It takes place in the respiratory organs card the lungs.
III) It is a physical and voluntary process.
Iv) It involves respiratory organs and the cells called as alveoli.
Respiration
_________
I) It is the process by which chemical energy stored in the food is released in the form of ATP along with carbon dioxide and water.
ii) It takes place in the cells.
III) It is a chemical and involuntary process.
Iv) It involves cells in their body as their organelles.

Aerobic respiration also known as oxybiotic respiration is the type of reaction in which oxygen is used and there is complete oxidation of glucose the formation of carbon dioxide and water as end products.

Anaerobic respiration also known as anoxybiotic respiration which occurs even without the presence of oxygen. In this type of respiration glucose molecule is incompletely broken down into ethanol or ethyl alcohol and carbon dioxide with the release of a small quantity of energy.
