Your Answer

Let the length be x cm and the breadth be 4x cm.

So, 2 × ( x + 4x ) = 60

=> 2 × 5x = 60

=> 10x = 60

=> x = 6

Therefore the length of the rectangle is 6 cm.

 \boxed{ \huge \pink{ \mathfrak{solution}}}

Given :

Breadth of the rectangle is 4 times of its length. so,

Let

length = x

and

breadth= 4x

Perimeter of the rectangle is 60 cm

 \bold{ \rightarrow} \: 60 = 2(l + b) \\  \\  \rightarrow \: 60 = 2(x + 4x) \\  \\  \rightarrow \: 60 = 2x + 8x \\  \\  \rightarrow \: 60 = 10x  \\  \\  \rightarrow \: x =  \frac{60}{10}  \\  \\  \rightarrow \: x = 6

Hence,

Length =x= 6cm

Breadth= 4x= 4×6= 24 cm
