Breaking a glass tumbler and burning a paper are changing in which we can't get back the original substance what is the difference between these two changes

Both of them are irreversible or permanent changes and the difference is glass tumbler breaks to give indefinite minute particles as well large and small pieces of glass however on the other hand we see burning of paper turns it into ashes and it can never be reversed.

However breaking of glass definitely gives us a loss in amount of glass when collected back but on melting it we can again make some other substance with it
