Maximum tension = 90N

The string has to hold the the boy's weight and the force due to acceleration

Hence,

T = ma + mg

90 = 10a + 100

a = -10/10 = -1m/

The boy cannot climb the string as his weight (100N) is greater than the breaking tension 90N of the string
