according too the Science research gills is breathing organ as it intake water dissolved oxygen and throw co2 through water

so here is your answer.....
fish use specialized organ gills in order to breathe the oxygen dissolved in water. the mouth and throay of a fish force water over the gills . Gills have a lot of blood vessels . The water has a higher concentration of oxygen then the blood .
