The Computer System consists of three vital parts.

  • The Input Unit.
  • The Central Processing Unit.
  • The Output Unit.

1. The Input Unit.

To 'input' implies to give data/enter data. The Input Unit hence comprises of the devices with which we are able to give in data. This unit acts as a connection between the user and the Computer System.

Example: Keyboard, webcam, microphone, etc.

2. The Central Processing Unit [CPU].

This Unit is considered to be the 'brain' of the System. The data that we enter into our devices is of a language that cannot be understood by the System. This will hence call for a Unit that translates our data into machine readable form [mostly comprising of binary digits].

3. The Output Unit.

Once our task is over, the System will require a medium to display the results. This Unit is again a connection between the user and the System.

Example: Monitor, printer, speakers, etc.
