If the are to be fenced is rectangular in shape:
Then the opposite side to the to the 9ft long side near the garage will also be 9 ft.
25 ft - 9 ft = 16ft
The other 2 adjacent sides will be 18 ft long together.
Find one adjacent side = 16ft/2 = 8 ft
Therefore the dimensions of the kennel are:
9 long feet by 8 feet wide.

From the question asked we know that the fencing will be in rectangular shape.
That's mean if one side is 9 feet long the other opposite side will also be the same. total fence is =25 feet
As the one side of the garage don't need fencing that;s means = 25-9 = 16 feet will be the fence need .
As the 16 feets is the collective result of two adjacent side So in order to calculate the single side = 16/2 = 8 feet the other sides will also have the same length .
So this way we now know that the one side is 9 and other is 8 feet so the dimensions will be 9 feet in length and 8 feet in width
9*8 feet² is the answer.
