Let us understand this by going through the working of three international institutions – United Nations, Security Council and the International Monetary Fund.
United Nations: It consists of 192 countries, each having one vote in the UN General Assembly. General Assembly is like a Parliament where all sorts of discussions take place and every country has equal right to speak their opinions. On this basis, UN appears to be democratic organisation. However, when the topic of conflict between two countries or more arises, General Assembly does not have the right to take decision on these kinds of issues.
