Answer :-
During the colonial period indigo was in great demand in European markets the british traders use to make money by selling indigo at high price in European countries . When the britishers saw the favourable climactic condition for growing indigo in India , they forcibly convinced Indian farmers to grow indigo in their farms . But the problem was that , Indian famers were not gaining any profit from growing indigo , so the farmers were not willing to grow indigo in their farms . So the indigo planters became more and more oppressive with time. So finally the farmers united and revolt against the indigo planter's opressive policies , this revolution started in 1839 and lasted in 1860 .
