during sexual intercourse the sperm from the male enters the vagina of the female and travels to the oviduct . one sperm fuses with an ova and forms the zygote . the zygote gets implanted in the uterus and divides to form embryo . the embryo gets nourishment from the mothers blood through placenta . villi provides large surface area for  oxygen and glucose to pass from mother to embryo. the wastes generated by embryo is removed from the body by transferring it to mothers blood through placenta . the child is born as a result of rythemic contractions of uterus
