R K Narayan was born in Madras now known as Chennai on October10 1906. his full name was Rasipuram krishnaswami Narayan. his father was the headmaster of a school and remain busy outside so Narayan simmental grandmother looked after him in his childhood during this time display mate square peacock and a monkey he was called by his nickname Kannjappa by giving his grandmother.

why living with his grandmother he studied at a success of school like LUTHERAN MISSION. Christian College High School in Madras. his early days were Indore with rich literary diet including Thomas Hardy Charles Dickens orthogonal dual. his first novel Swami and Friends were rejected by a strip of publishers and finally with the help of his friend at Oxford it was published there.

text he wrote a good many novels like the bachelor of arts the darkroom The English Teacher ,the guide, the man eater of Malgudi, the vendor of sweets.

R K Narayan was Commission by the Government of Karnataka he write a book to promote tourism in the state he was nominated to the Rajya Sabha The Upper house of Indian parliament in 1980 for his contribution to literature. the site the Academy Award was conferred on him in 1958 for his Novel the guide. he he also on the American Academy of Arts and letters and on the AC Benson middle from Royal Society of literature.

he breathed his last on May 13 2001 in Chennai at the age of 94

R K Narayan was an Indian novelist ,short story writer , essayist,travel writer, journalist ,critic and editor
His full name was -Rasipuram Krishnaswami Iyer Narayanaswami . RK Narayan is considered one of the three best Indian authors writing in English. His fiction contains a unique blend of indian mysticism and English forms.
Narayan sir was born in Mysore India in 1906.His father was an administer and headmaster of several government schools.
he did not have much academic success , however, having difficulty with his College entrance exam in English. In 1926 he enrolled in the BA Programme in English in Maharaja College,Mysore after which he embarked on a short lived teaching career.Finding the academic like was not for him, Narayan turned to writing. After being turned down by several publishers, Narayan gave the manuscript of his first novel, Swami and Friends (1935) to a friend and give him permission to destroy , after reading it .The friend showed the novel to Graham Greene, who was impressed and founde a publisher for the book. Narayan writing career was born and the prolific writer went on to publish novels.
