Briefly describe the food chain and food web and write why is the foodweb more real than food chain ? At least 3 points.

A food chain is a transfer of energy from one organism to another, by the consumption of lower organism by a high organism and in turn getting fed by a comparatively higher organism. A food web is a network of food chains through which energy and nutrients are passed on from one living organism to another. The following points make food webs more real than food chains :- (1) Food webs show the flow of energy through an ecosystem (2) Food webs realistically portray the energy flow in the system (3) Most organisms eat more than one type of food and can be eaten by more than one type of predator.
