The plains along the bay of Bengal are wide and level . in the northern part it is reffered to as the northern circar while the southern part is known as coromandel coast.
The penisular plateau is bordered by narrow coastal strips running along the Arabian Sea on the west and bay of Bengal on the east . the western coast lies between the western Ghats and Arabian Sea us a narrow plain it consist of 3 sections .

Northern part of coast us called konkan ( Mumbai to Goa)
Central stretch called kannad plain
Southern strech called Malabar coast
