Water is continuously moving in a cyclic manner from the surface of the Earth to the atmosphere and come back again to the surface of the Earth. The actual water from the oceans and other water bodies evaporates due to the Sun's heat and rise above to the atmosphere and when it reaches the upper layers of atmosphere, it cools down and gets condensed to form clouds. Clouds cause precipitation and the water ultimately comes back to the Earth as rain or snow. So, Water cycle can be defined as the cyclic process of evaporation, condensation and precipitation of water which is never ending. Water cycle is often known as the hydrological cycle.
