The unification process was first started by the educated middle class people in 1848. But they were opposed by the monarchy, military and Junkers. But the Prussian CM Otto van Bismarck supported the idea of national unification. Under his leadership Prussia fought 3 wars in 7 years against Austria, Denmark and france. At the end Prussia won the war resulting in national unification. In 1871 william 1 was given the crown at the palace of Versailles. The nation building process carried on by strengthening the currency and judicial system.
