Bring out the importance of diary in Anne's life.

Anne was very different from the other boys and girls of her age.She felt herself alone though she had loving parents and elder sister. He had loving aunts and a good home .She had about 30 friends also. Yet she felt herself alone.There was no one with whom she could share the deepest feelings of her heart. There was a number of things she wanted to get off her chest. But she had no true friend. The friends she had couldn't be called true friends. She could talk to them about ordinary everyday things only. She could have with them only a good time. She couldn't get any closer with them. She needed someone to confide the feelings of her heart. So she decided to keep a diary. She could pour out all her musings on to it. She gave it the name of ‘Kitty’. This friend of hers gave her what she is intensely yearned for. Thus the importance of diary in Anne's life was that of water for a fish.

Anne as appears in her novel only wishes for others' valuable response. But her expectations are usually far from reality. Her masculine attitude and her dearest Kitty(her diary) were the only friends which helped her to survive in the Annex. The diary provided company to Anne even when others broke her heart. The diary was the life changer which made Anne believe that not everyone in this world will be nice to her, but she has to be nice in order to gather the best qualities of a human. It was the only thing in Anne's limited life which made her optimistic and led her to make future goals.
