Hi friend,
In the poem "The Frog and the Nightingale", We saw that the Nightingale is Gullible in nature. When she reached the land she got unexpected appreciation by many creatures living there. In the same place frog used to live and used to croak all day long even when everyone else is annoyed with him.....It doesn't matter to him even when they used to throw pebbles on him....he have no other job but to croak...croak and croak. One day when Nightingale came to the Same place where he lives with her beautiful sound.Everyone got amazed by her singing ability.... Many creatures starts to come from nearby village just to listen to her song. And this made Frog jealous and he trapped the Nightingale in his cruel words. He tortured her all day long and very soon all her audiences lose interest in her song.In the end she died of tiredness. Before that frog asked her he will teach her how to sing. And In the end he contradictory says you yourself is responsible for your death.....The song must be your own...!!!
The End.
Hope this may help you....!!!

the frog says this in order to justify the death of the nightingle in the end of the poem as well as to clear himself off the blame for tricking her into death. the statement is ironical because basically the nightingle was satisfied that her song was originally hers. it was the frog that made her to lose original style of singing and copy his own when she tried to do so she lost not only her originality or quality of singing her life to. the tricky or cunning frog succeeded in eliminating her. but ironicaly he blamed her she did not understand the importance of being an original singer.
