Hey it's a nice question

we know that Chicago is 87 degrees West to the greenwich .

we know that how much West the longitude will be to the Greenwich that much time reduces which was x 4.

so I can say that you can do is 87 *4 = 348 min

that is 5 hours 8 minutes.

show the time would be 12 P.M - 5 hrs and 8 minutes

that would be approximately 7 a.m

hope it helps you and please mark it as brainliest

Answer:

The local time in Chicago is 6:12 AM

Explanation:

Given,

The time in Greenwich is noon and also given Chicago is 87°W from Greenwich

To find,

The local time of Chicago

Solution:

We know that it takes 4 minutes to cross 1° longitude and also when we move West of GMT, the time decreases.

Here, 87° = 87 × 4 = 348minutes =  5 hours 48minutes

Since Chicago is 87°W of Greenwich, the local time in Chicago is 5 hours 48 minutes before GMT

Hence the local time in Chicago is 12 PM - 5 hours 48 minutes

= 6:12 AM

∴ The local time in Chicago is 6:12 AM
