Irony is a literally device which is employed when the real meaning is contradicted by the literature meaning of the words. Here in the poem " The Frog and the Nightingale" when earlier the Nightingale said with pride ' at least it is mine' for her song , the frog discouraged her by saying that she should not boast about her original songs. He ruined her natural talent by forcing her to sing according to his guidelines. Later on he finds fault in her singing and says that ' your song must be ur own '. So, this statement is quite ironical.

Hello yaar,

Irony is a term which refers to the opposite of what is being said.

Here in this poem the frog states that "your song must be your own". He really does not intend that.

In the beginning of the poem the frog himself offers to teach the nightingale and he says that he will make her a good singer with his training. However in the end when the nightingale died he said your song must be your own. This shows the irony in the statement.
