The different people in Gulliver's Travels represent different aspects of humanity. Gulliver represents a middle class Englishman who is fundamentally decent and has good intentions. The Lilliputians are tiny and represent the petty and small minded aspect of the English and humankind in general. They are physically and morally smaller than Gulliver. They are proud of their army but their army parade's beneath Gulliver's legs. In spite of their small size they are pompous, self important, hypocritical and dangerous.
