Hi,
We know that area of the rectangle =A = Length × width

i) Area of Brinn's rectangular kitchen = A1= 81 square feet -------(1)

ii) Dimensions of Brinn's Pantry
Width = W = 3 feet
Let Length = L feet
Area of the pantry = A 2 = L × W

A2 = L × 3 square feet----(2)
But given condition in the problem is

9 times of area of the pantry = Area of the kitchen

9× A2 = A1
From (1) and (2)
9 × L × 3 = 81

L= 81/(9 × 3)
After cancellation we get

L = 3 feet

Therefore, length of the Brinn's pantry = L = 3 feet

I hope this will useful to u

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

A2 = L × 3 square feet----(2)

But given condition in the problem is

9 times of area of the pantry = Area of the kitchen

9× A2 = A1

From (1) and (2)

9 × L × 3 = 81

L= 81/(9 × 3)

After cancellation we get

L = 3 feet

Therefore, length of the Brinn's pantry = L = 3 feet
