substance Y is copper oxide

2.Redox Reaction(i.e Oxidation and Reduction)

3. Chemical equations:-

2Cu (s) + O2 (g) ----> 2CuO

Accepted Answer: The brown substance' X' is copper .When it is heated copper oxide is formed . The reaction is as follows.It is a combination reaction.
