naveekutty: Actually it is because of the harmful gases which evaporates to say and mingle with water and gets down as acid rain this acid rain cause the marbles to turn yellow brown in colour

The monuments are turning yellow in colour due to the presence of corrosive and harmful gases in the atmosphere like sulphur dioxide sulphur trioxide and nitrogen dioxide & other harmful pollutants.
