Bus decreases its speed from the from 30 kilometre per hour 20 km per hour in 5 seconds find the acceleration of the bus and distance travelled by it

By the equations of motion....we know that...

v = u + at

Here, v = 20 km/hr

u = 30 km/hr

t = 5 s

By putting the values in the equation we get....

20 = 30 + 5a

thus, a = -2 m/s²

By the third equation of motion...

v² - u² = 2as

s = (v² - u²) / 2a

Putting the necessary values in the equation...

s = ( 20² - 30² ) / 2 ( -2)

s = (-10) (50) / -4

s =5 × 25

s = 125m

Hence the acceleration is -2 m/s² and distance covered is 125m....
