Coniferous and mixed forests are ecosystems that stand out from others by very high intensity of emission of plant aerosols (rank 5). Slightly lower emission (though also high - rank 4) was noted in oak-hornbeam forests, swamp coniferous forests, as well as fens and bogs. This group also comprises dry grassland. Alder and riparian forests were assigned medium potential to emit plant aerosols (rank 3). Both peat grassland and wet grassland on mineral soil received the same rank. In the case of reed beds and sedge swamps, the aerosol emission efficiency was estimated as low (rank 2) and in the case of agro ecosystems as very low (rank 1) (Table 6.49).
