This quote is taken from the “The story of a Ship Wrecked  Sailor” in which the protagonist Velasco was thrown  overboard from his navy destroyer.

EXPLANATION:

Luis was all alone at the sea and he is frightened that  he remains disavowal in such a hard situation. He was  startled as the sea was violent and there was strong winds  with circling sharks around.

He is filled up with hunger and  thirst that he suffers from hallucinations too.
