Heya
Let salim's father's age be x
According to the question,
(1/3) (x-5) + (1/2)x = 20
(x-5)/3 + x/2 = 20
2(x-5)/6 + 3x/2 = 20
(2x-10+3x)/6 = 20
(5x-10)/6=20
5x-10 = 120
5x = 130
x= 130/5
x= 26

Let salim's father's age be a
∴ (a-5)+xa=20
∴ -+=20

∴ =20
∴ 2a-10+3a=20x6
∴ 2a+3a=120+10
∴ 5a=130
∴ α=
∴ α=26
∴ Salim's father's age is 26 years.
∴ (a-5)+xa=20
∴ -+=20
∴ +=20
∴ =20
