Mendel took two traits of pea plant at a time. One plant had yellow and round seeds and another had green and wrinkled seeds when he crossed these two plants the offspring or the F1 generation had the same dominant trait that was yellow and round. But when he again crossed the plant of F1 generation he found four types of seeds in F2 generation:
1. Yellow round (dominant)
2. Yellow wrinkled
3. Green round
4. Green wrinkled (recessive)
The plants in these traits were in the ratio 9:3:3:1. This showed that the traits are inheritedly independent.

WHILE EXPERIMENT MENDEL TOOK TWO DIFFERENT PEA PLANTS ONE WITH GREEN AND WRINKLED SEED AND ANOTHER WITH YELLOW AND ROUND SEED HE CROSS BOTH THE PLANTS AND THE FIRST GENERATION WAS FOUND TO BE THE DOMINANT CHARACTER OF YELLOW AND ROUND SEEDS ALL THE PLANTS MADE UP OF YELLOW AND ROUND SEEDS BUT WHEN WE CROSS THE PLANTS OF F1 GENERATION HE FOUND FOUR TYPE OF PLANTS THESE ARE .... FIRST YELLOW AND ROUND SEED WHICH WAS DOMINANT CHARACTER SECOND GREEN AND ROUND THIRD YELLOW AND WRINKLED 4TH GREEN AND WRINKLED WHICH WAS RECESSIVE SO HE CONCLUDED THE PLANTS OBTAINED IN THE F2 GENERATION WAS IN THE RATIO OF 9:3:3:1
