Solution:-

Given:-

  • Polynomial:- ( x³ - 6x² + 11x + k )
  • ( x -1) is the Factor of the Polynomial.

To Find:-

  • Value of k = ?

Find:-

( x -1) is the Factor of the given Polynomial.

=) x - 1 = 0

=) x = 1

P(x) = x³ - 6x² + 11x + k

=) P(1) = 1³ - 6(1)² + 11(1) + k

=) 0 = 1 - 6 + 11 + k

=) k = 6 - 11 - 1

=) k = -6

Hence,

  • k takes the value of -6.
